Anderson helps Idaho past Utah State for first conference win

MOSCOW, Idaho » Linebacker Mike Anderson returned an interception 71 yards for a touchdown with 45 seconds to play and secured Idaho's 27-13 win over Utah State, the Vandals' first in the Western Athletic Conference.
Steven Wichman completed his first 13 passes and finished 20-for-25 for 238 yards and a touchdown for Idaho.
The Vandals (1-4, 1-1) also received a boost from Rolly Lumbala, who finished with 73 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries.
Quarterback Leon Jackson III rushed for 74 yards on 18 carries and threw for 157 yards for Utah State (1-2, 0-1).
Idaho built a seven-point lead with 46- and 29-yard field goals from Mike Barrow in the fourth quarter. The Aggies were driving when Anderson came up with his interception on a first-down play from the Idaho 34.

SAN JOSE, Calif. » Jeff Rowe passed for 226 yards and two touchdowns, including the tiebreaker with 3:39 left, leading the Wolf Pack (2-2, 1-0) past the Spartans (1-3, 0-1).
Rowe opened the scoring with a 16-yard TD pass to Kyle Sammons 3:16 into the game.

RUSTON, La. » Matt Kubik threw for 174 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Bulldogs (1-2) in the Aggies' WAC debut.
The Aggies (0-5) joined the WAC earlier this year after leaving the Sun Belt Conference.

SAN DIEGO » San Diego State quarterback Kevin O'Connell completed his first 12 passes and ran for a touchdown to lead the Aztecs (2-3, 1-1) over the Cougars.
The win ended a four-game losing streak to BYU (1-3, 0-2).
