Lindgren, 55, previously coached the Honolulu-based Coconut Road Runners.

The induction ceremony will be held Oct. 14 in Eugene, Ore.

Hawaii 17th at USGA team championship

Hawaii teenagers Nicole Sakamoto and Erin Matsuoka both shot 4-over-par 77 in yesterday's opening round of the USGA Women's State Team Championship in Bluffton, S.C.

Asao led Hawaii at 1-over 73 to tie for 33rd overall among 155 golfers. Tanoue was 3 over and Souza 4 over.
