Walk funds cancer research

White will mark cancer survivors, red, their supporters, during Saturday's Light the Night Walk in support of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Walkers will pace themselves in a 2-mile march at Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, carrying lighted balloons of white and red.

More than 200 people and 60 teams have signed up to participate, and registration remains open. The society funds research into cures for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and provides education and services for patients with these diseases.

Call 534-1222.

PREVIEW

Opening Friday:

"Flightplan": Jodie Foster plays a recently widowed woman whose 6-year-old daughter vanishes on a cavernous aircraft during a transatlantic flight. The crew and passengers suspect the girl was never on the plane -- and may not even exist. Peter Sarsgaard, Sean Bean and Erika Christensen co-star. (PG-13)

"Roll Bounce": Bow Wow stars as the leader of a roller-skating crew going uptown to compete during the roller-rink heyday of the 1970s. Through his preparation for the showdown of the season, he finds himself and helps his widower dad (Chi McBride) get back on track. (PG-13)

"Tim Burton's Corpse Bride": The director-producer follows up his 1993 "The Nightmare Before Christmas" with another stop-motion animated feature, a tortured romance set in a 19th-century European village. A bumbling aesthete (voiced by Johnny Depp) accidentally betroths himself to a dead-and-buried woman (Helena Bonham Carter) while rehearsing vows meant for an earthly mate (Emily Watson). (PG)
