Sisters Bernadette and Gloria Baraquio applauded the performance of Amy Gilliom yesterday during a "Kokua for Katrina" benefit concert at Kapono's in the Aloha Tower Marketplace. Many other widely know performers took the stage to raise money for Gulf Coast hurricane victims.

Navy Reservists from the Forward Oscar Battalion were bedecked with leis for a welcome-home party held in their honor at the Hawaii Okinawan Center yesterday afternoon, put together by their wives. Pictured are Petty Officer 1st Class Benjamin Alarcio, left, and Petty Officer 2nd Class Saifoloi Saifoloi. Also honored were Petty Officers 1st Class Benjamin Alarcio, Joseph Rayray and Petty Officer 2nd Class Wilfredo Ben. The Navy Reservists were deployed in Iraq and Kuwait and served on a customs mission inspecting personnel and equipment.
