Eagles add a third
Blaisdell concert

Over 7,000 tickets sell in 20 minutes
for November’s dates

The Eagles' decade-long absence from Hawaii along with rave reviews for its current West Coast tour yesterday created a frenzy over tickets at the Blaisdell box office and online for its two Hawaii shows Nov. 29 and 30 with more than 7,000 tickets sold in the first 20 minutes.

Eagles' fever is so strong the band's management and promoter, Marek Lieberberg, announced a rare third concert on Dec. 2, 8 p.m. at the Blaisdell Arena. It's the first concert since Elton John's trio of Honolulu performances in 1999 that a rock act has attracted enough attention to warrant that many shows.

Eagles' tickets are priced $65-$250 with about 300 are available at the top price.

"We're ecstatic and very, very pleased," Lieberberg said in a telephone call from Germany. "Hawaii is in store for an incredible experience."

Though the first two shows have not yet sold out, Lieberberg and company are confident that ticket sales momentum justify a third date. About 6,800 tickets -- 20,400 total -- are available for each of the Eagle's three concerts.

The Eagles have teamed up with iloveallaccess.com to offer a variety of VIP ticket packages. For more details go to www.iloveallaccess.com

When the Eagles performed at Aloha Stadium in 1995, about 25,000 tickets were sold. Honolulu is the last stop of the group's West Coast tour.

The Eagles' "Greatest Hits 1971-1975," which has sold more than 28 million copies, is the top-selling album of all time in the United States. The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.
