Thai film on view

The Thai box-office hit "The Holy Man" will be screened tomorrow at the University of Hawaii-Manoa campus.

The low-brow comedy is about a Buddhist abbot and former low-life who agrees to help revive a struggling community in rural Thailand by resuscitating the local temple. The community, however, has long since abandoned its religious practices and instead gravitates toward a dodgy ashram that has been scamming the locals. They show up to pray to a sham goddess for good luck and quick cures for their ills.

"The Holy Man" will be shown at 6:30 p.m. in the Korean Studies Auditorium and admission is free. Call 956-2638.
