Driver in crash ID’d

KAILUA-KONA » Police have identified the driver of a car involved in a fatal two-vehicle crash in Kona on Saturday as Alfredo Flores, 23, of Kailua-Kona.

All four people were killed in the 1992 Honda sedan driven by Flores which crossed the center line of the Mamalahoa Highway at about 3:20 a.m. and struck an oncoming tractor-trailer truck.

Police said alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.

A 42-year-old woman passenger has been identified through fingerprints, but police are still trying to locate her next of kin, they said.

Police previously identified two other passengers in the Honda as Jaime Villamil Cortes, 30, and Nabor Rosas Hernandez, 33, both of Kailua-Kona.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, Kyle Fujimoto, 50, was treated for minor injuries and released.
