Glimpse of Huahine

Bishop Museum anthropologist Yosihiko Sinoto will showcase the history and culture of the tiny South Pacific island of Huahine in a presentation from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at the Outrigger Waikiki upper lobby.

Rick Carroll, author of a the book "Huahine, Island of the Lost Canoe," also will be on hand to sign copies of his book.

The book details the first field survey of the island, conducted by Sinoto. His presentation will include artifacts presented in the book.

Admission is free. Validated parking is $3.

Dream fair

Just what do dreams mean? Do you fly in your dreams or have the same recurring dream?

Dreams are one way of receiving personal guidance, according to the Satsang Society, which is holding a dream fair from 1 to 5 p.m. Sept. 24 at the Neal Blaisdell Center, in the Maui, Kauai and Oahu rooms.

The sixth annual Eckankar Dream Fair will offer answers to dreams, leading spiritual workshops, interactive exhibits and spiritual exercises.

Among topics to be discussed are "Using Past Life Insights to Help You Today," "Surviving Grief and Loss" and "How to Find Answers to Life's Questions and Spiritual Growth in Our Relationships."

The Eagles bring tour to Hawaii

The Eagles' "Farewell I" tour comes to the Blaisdell Arena Nov. 29 and 30 -- their first performance in Hawaii in nine years.
