‘Pipeline’ cast
largely local

Independent filmmaker Jordan Alan ("Terminal Bliss," "Love and Happiness," and "Kiss and Tell") will film his low-budget surf-horror movie "Pipeline" on Oahu for six weeks beginning November using a majority of local actors cast principal roles and as extras -- and at least an 80 percent local crew. Former "Baywatch Hawaii" actor Amanda Righetti has a lead role as Jocelyn. Brian Kealauna is a producer. Possible summer '06 release...

Filming runs Tuesday through December for Boarding School Productions' "Boarding School" on Nickleodeon's new channel N. Maili and Makaha Valley will be the backdrop for 22 episodes. Series airs spring 2006. "Baywatch's" David Chokachi plays instructor to four teenage girls -- cast but not announced -- training to become professional surfers on the North Shore. The low-budget series reportedly costs less than $500,000 an episode...

Looks like Universal Pictures "You, Me and Dupree" will film on Oahu for a week early next month. The comedy stars Matt Dillon, Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson ... Expect good news about Discovery Channel's "Fight 29 Down" half-hour series which premiers Oct. 1...

Trouble in paradise? "Lost" star Matthew Fox said during the recent DVD release party that he took "a huge pay cut" to do the show, and all the other actors feel "under-appreciated" by ABC ... "Lost" films this week in Heeia and Kualoa, a Kahala home and on Haleiwa's Police Beach. Filming next week will include a Diamond Head bunker

They should know: Several "Lost" crew praise the ABC production for hiring more locals in key positions this season ...

SPOILERS: Season two's first episode -- "Man of Science, Man of Faith" -- introduces Desmond, played by Henry Ian Cusick, described in the script as "an avid daredevil" who prefers climbing the world's tallest mountains solo ... Other guest stars: John Terry as Shephard, Julie Bowen as Sarah, Anson Mount as Kevin, Ivana Michele Smith as N.D., Katie Doyle and Julius Ledda as EMTs, Masayo Ford as a nurse, David Ely as and intern and Larry Wiss, an anesthesiologist ...
