Alaska-Anchorage tips Hawaii-Hilo in 5

Alaska-Anchorage beat Hawaii-Hilo in a Division II college volleyball match last night in Anchorage.

Heather Lyons and Brenda Cooper had 14 kills each to lead the Seawolves over the Vulcans 30-26, 27-30, 30-25, 18-30, 15-11.

Taina Savage led Hawaii-Hilo with 23 kills.

Mayhem and Niko to fight Oct. 28

Former Super Brawl middleweight champion Falaniko Vitale takes on Jason "Mayhem" Miller in the main event of Icon Sport: Opposites Attract on Friday, Oct. 28 at the Blaisdell Arena.

The winner will earn a shot at the middleweight title, held by "Ruthless" Robbie Lawler, who defeated Vitale by knockout in the second round back in July. Miller defeated Mark Moreno on the same card.

The general public is invited to the press conference for the fight, which is set for Monday at 2 p.m. at Eastside Grill.

Warrior Gameday debuts on KKEA

Randall Miyamoto and Rich Perez are co-hosting Warrior Gameday, a University of Hawaii football show live this year on KKEA, 1420-AM.

The show begins 2 hours before all of the Warriors' home and away games, and the debut is 11 a.m. tomorrow, prior to the 1 p.m. UH vs. Southern California game.

Warrior Gameday leads into KKEA's regular pregame shows, which are still scheduled for 1 hour before all home and away games (noon, tomorrow).

Former Minnesota Vikings star Joey Browner and Mike Sullivan are also scheduled to make appearances as co-hosts of the show.

Honolulu Century Ride set for Sept. 25

The Honolulu Century Ride will celebrate its 24th anniversary Sept. 25.

The all-abilities cycling event will feature courses of 20, 25, 40, 50, 75 and 100 miles, with refreshment and mechanical aid stations along the shorelines of East Honolulu and the Windward coast.

Ultimate Streetcar Challenge is Oct. 22-23

The Drift Session will host the Ultimate Streetcar Challenge, a two-day decathlon of events, Oct. 22-23.

Competing vehicles will be judged on car show, fuel economy, comfort, 0-60 acceleration, quarter-mile drag race, 0-100-0 acceleration and braking, slalom and "gross display of horsepower."

Speed, agility training in Mililani this month

Speed, Agility, Form Running and Mental Training, a conditioning program by Kyle Higuchi, runs each Saturday this month from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Mililani Baseball Complex.

Registration fees for the program, which is for ages 7-18, range from $40 to $55.
