Market on the move

The Mililani Farmers' Market is moving from Saturday afternoon to Sunday, and to a new site on the Mililani High School campus.

Beginning this weekend, market hours will be 8 a.m. to noon in front of the gym. The market had been held on Saturday afternoons in the parking lot since opening in March.

To kick off the move, Roy's Ko Olina Restaurant will be serving breakfast. Coffee, beignets, oatcakes and other items will be sold by regular market vendors.

The Mililani market features 15 to 20 vendors each week, offering locally grown produce, fresh-cut flowers, grass-fed beef and a variety of prepared foods.

The market is sponsored by the Hawaii Farm Bureau Federation. Call 848-2074.

The writer of the winning story will receive the signed original strip, as well as a free signed copy of Pett's latest comic collection from Andrews McMeel Publishing, "Lucky Cow."

Storylines and sample strips will be accepted, but only one entry per person.

Deadline to enter is Monday. Send name, address, phone number, e-mail address, date of entry and the newspaper where you read "Lucky Cow." Send your entry to Andrews McMeel Publishing, care of Dept. DM, 4520 Main St., Kansas City, Mo. 64111. Or e-mail entries to LuckyCowcontest@amuniversal.com.
