Isle film fest
invites jurors

Lucy Liu, Julie Delpy and "Hitch" producer Teddy Zee have been invited to be jurors for the Louis Vuitton Hawaii International Film Festival's 25th anniversary, Oct. 20 to 30. Director Zhang Yimou and iconic Japanese action star Sonny Chiba will receive the festival's first lifetime achievement awards. Screenings booked so far: "The Matador" with Pierce Brosnan; "The Buried Forest, The Hidden Blade," "Karaoke Terror" from Japan, "Shanghai Story" from China; and, from South Korea, "A Bittersweet Life."

University of Hawaii Academy for Creative Media student Renato Fontaine's "Promise of Paradise" is the first ACM film accepted for this year's fest, which again features an entire program of Academy student films ...
