Garage sale will benefit Cazimero's Halau Na Kamalei

A garage sale benefit for Robert Cazimero's Halau Na Kamalei will be held Saturday, featuring several items of Hawaiiana.

Most prominent are a Kawaiaha'o Church commemorative koa box more than 100 years old and a front-page lithograph of a 1907 San Francisco Sunday Call newspaper featuring a photo of Queen Liliuokalani and a headline calling her "Queen Lil."

Other items include black-and-white photos of turn-of-the-century Waikiki, a signed oil painting of Kauai's Wailua River, a Huc Luquiens reprint of Hanauma Bay in a koa frame, a vintage monkeypod salad set, a framed 1990 Honolulu Marathon poster signed by the top five male finishers and an antique makeup bench/mirror.

The sale will also include more general garage sale paraphernalia, for those with simpler tastes.

The sale runs 7:30 a.m. to noon at 3522 Pahoa Ave. in Kaimuki.
