Francisco Alvarado Jr.: One victim says he raped her hundreds of times since she was 7

An Oahu Grand jury charged Francisco Alvarado Jr. on Tuesday with eight counts of first- degree sexual assault, three counts of third-degree sexual assault and one count of abusing a third family member.

He has been held at Oahu Community Correctional Center since Monday, unable to post $400,000 bail. Police arrested him Friday at his home.

According to Honolulu police, one alleged victim, who is now an adult, said that Alvarado had raped her 200 to 300 times since she was 7 years old. She said Alvarado is the father of her child.

In asking the court to confirm bail at $400,000, deputy prosecutor Vickie Kapp said Alvarado is considered "very dangerous" to the victim.

"He had beaten the victim in the past and has threatened to kill her," she said.

Alvarado also allegedly had sexual contact with another family member, a minor, the indictment said. And he is accused of repeatedly hitting a third family member, also a minor, earlier this month.

Alvarado has five prior arrests, including one for a felony, and a felony conviction for second-degree theft.

Alvarado was arrested in October 2000 and charged with two counts of abuse of a household member for allegedly assaulting his wife. A state judge dismissed the case after Alvarado's father provided an alibi for his son.
