Marumoto honored
for crime-fighting bills

State Rep. Barbara Marumoto will receive a Crime Fighter award from a national victims advocacy group tomorrow for her sponsorship of legislation that enforces stronger measures to monitor convicted felons.

Marumoto (R, Kalani Valley-Diamond Head) will receive the award from RAINN (Rape, Abuse, Incest National Network) at a the National Conference of State Legislatures in Seattle.

A member of the House Judiciary Committee, Marumoto has introduced bills calling for increased use of DNA technology to match felons with violent crimes and for a state crime laboratory.
