View Me & Ro designs

art

Meet Robin Renzi, one-half the design team of the New York jewelry company Me & Ro, during a cocktail reception and trunk show, 4 to 7 p.m. tomorrow at Neiman Marcus, in Designer Jewelry on Level One.

Renzi founded the company in the back of her Elizabeth Street apartment in the summer of 1991 with model and fellow waitress Michele Quan. They got a major break nearly a decade later when actress Julia Roberts contacted them for jewelry to wear in "Notting Hill."

Since then, Me & Ro designs have been worn by many of Hollywood's elite, including Meg Ryan, Charlize Theron and Jennifer Aniston.

Renzi will consult with customers and show pieces from her Fine Jewelry collection, featuring gold and platinum pieces not sold in Hawaii. These pieces will be on display tomorrow and Saturday and will be available for purchase or special orders.

The collection includes necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings in sterling silver, gold and platinum with precious, and semi-precious stones. Many are engraved in Chinese or Sanskrit with inspirational messages expressing strength, love and faith. The smoky quartz teardrop necklace shown is $670.

Don't judge a book by its cover

Behind this summery pulp-fiction hardcover is an insightful color story from Too Faced. "The Summer Lover" is one of two Quickie Chronicles capsulizing summer's palette.

"The Summer Lover" focuses on sweet berry and mocha hues that go on sheer for a hint of color to play up summer tans, while "The Beach Bunny" features skin-warming tawny and golden colors. For after the beach, there's "The Party Girl," a playful pink-toned palette.

Each $25 palette includes cheek color; three eye colors; three lip glosses plus sheer lip shimmer; and double-ended lip and eye applicators.

Look for the palettes at Sephora. They're guaranteed to hit the best-seller list.
