Maui home prices
slip to $679,000

Maui's single-family home prices, which reached a record $780,000 in May, dropped for the second month in a row in July, but the market is still roaring.

Single-family home prices declined 7.6 percent on Maui to a median $679,000 in July from the previous month's $735,000. Condominium prices on the Valley Isle also dropped about 6 percent to $380,000, according to data released yesterday by the Realtors Association of Maui. However, the island's home prices were way up from a year earlier.

While overall home prices may have declined from June to July, Maui is still a strong market, with a range of healthy home prices, Realtor Steven Nickens said. Many regions aren't showing signs of price decline, he said.
