Fastball frontman at
the Hard Rock Cafe

Tony Scalzo of Fastball will be performing a special benefit for local environmental groups Sierra Club (Hawaii chapter), Kahea and Earthjustice tomorrow evening. The Austin, Texas, rocker will be playing some familiar songs from his band like "The Way" and "Out of My Head," as well as new material from an upcoming solo album, during his solo acoustic and full-band sets.

He's staying in Makaha, working with his friend Mark Glick from the Office of Hawaiian Affairs as they try to get together a documentary about Mauna Kea on the Big Island, for which Scalzo will do music. Currently in its formative stages, the film will be about a solo hike Glick made about two years ago, where he went from shore to summit.
