» Colin Imaoka of Mililani has been promoted to the rank of Eagle Scout by the Aloha Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He is the first to achieve this rank in Troop 664, which is chartered by the Mililani Town Association.

» The Ready to Learn program, which provides school supplies to 25,000 needy children annually under Helping Hands Hawaii, has honored volunteers Ed Hiraki, Kalowena Komeiji and the Hawaii National Guard for contributing to the program's success.

» Kailua resident Gerald G. Jampolsky, M.D., has been recognized by the national American Medical Association with its 2005 Excellence in Medicine Award for his pioneering work at the International Center for Attitudinal Healing in Sausalito, Calif.

» Hawaii Women Lawyers, a nonprofit organization, has recognized Lea Hong, Federal Judge Susan Oki Mollway, Lois Yasui, Nanci Kriedman and Dr. Laura Weldon Hoque for their contributions to improving the lives and careers of women in the legal profession and enhancing the status of women in the community.

» St. Francis Healthcare System of Hawaii has honored four employees and a physician with Mother Marianne Cope Awards for epitomizing the mission of the hospital and the core values of joy, simplicity, charity and peacemaking.

They are Eugene Napua Tiwanak, president of the St. Francis Healthcare Foundation of Hawaii; Roberta Lovely, director of the St. Francis Renal Institute; Jayme Higa, nurse manager of St. Francis Medical Center-West; Mary Kempshall, patient and family care coordinator of St. Francis Hospice; and Dukee Kim, physician/adviser of St. Francis Home Care.
