Longer wait
for Testament

Metal fans will have to wait a bit longer than expected for Testament's reunion tour to stop in Honolulu.

Shortly after announcing that the show would take place next month at Pipeline Cafe, word came that it would be pushed back to Sept. 19. Tickets already purchased will be honored on the new date.

Word has it there was a cancellation in Korea, which caused the band's management to shuffle their touring schedule ...

REGGAE LOVERS don't have to wait much longer for a pair of heavyweights from Jamaica to pay a visit.

Kapono's will host two nights of performances by Beres Hammond with Marcia Griffiths and Jimmy Cozier. Hammond, who celebrates his 50th birthday next month, is one of the more underrated artists among mainstream reggae fans. Griffiths is commonly known as the voice behind "Electric Boogie," also known as "The Electric Slide." But she was also a member of the I Threes, Bob Marley's backup singers from 1974 through 1980.

Tickets for tomorrow's and Thursday's shows are $30 each, with the music starting at 7:30 p.m. After performing in Honolulu, the tour moves on to Maui, the Big Island and Kauai this weekend ...
