Go on a birding hike with David Kuhn along Pihea Trail three Sundays this summer: today, July 30 and Aug. 28.

MAUI
All fore juniors

Kaanapali Golf Courses continues its popular Summer Junior Golf Programs, geared toward youths ages 7 to 17 who aspire to be the next Michelle Wie.

Camps run from 3 to 5 p.m. daily during each session, as follows: tomorrow to Thursday; July 25 to 28, and Aug. 8 to 11. Each four-day session costs $50.

The goal of the programs is to provide a fun learning environment for juniors of all skill levels, and the series of camps allows the PGA head golf professional, Scott Ashworth, and his staff of assistant golf professionals to focus on teaching golf etiquette and the fundamentals of the game. Instructors will offer a description of the rules of golf.

Each junior golfer who passes the rules and etiquette test will receive a junior golf membership ID card, complimentary green fees on the Tournament North Course every day after 5 p.m. through mid-November, and complimentary range balls through June.

Also, all juniors 7 to 17 can play golf for free after 3 p.m. this month and next if accompanied by a paying adult.
