Dancers incognito

Lizard Loft presents "Incognito," a modern dance showcase directed by Action Figure Dance Productions at the ARTS at Marks Garage. Show times are 8 p.m. July 15, 16, 18, 22 and 23, and 7 p.m. July 17.

AFDP director Jennifer Sherburn is new to the Honolulu dance scene from Austin, Texas, and makes her debut choreographing original material for some of Honolulu's favorite dancers (Jackie Nii, Arturo Mariano, Lynn Novack, Mayuko Ayabe and Matt Del Rosario) using abstract movement, sound and experimental lighting.

The show explores that which goes incognito, or thump in the night. Tickets are $10 general and $7 for students. Marks Garage is at 1159 Nuuanu Ave. Call 521-2903 for more information.

The deadline for submissions is July 31, and works should run five to 10 minutes long on DVD or VHS format. Those under 18 years old must have parental consent to enter. The tentative dates of the festival are Aug. 26 and 27, with site to be announced.
