In a brief ceremony at Marine Corps Base Hawaii at Kaneohe Bay yesterday, Japan Ground Self Defense Force Maj. Gen. Taiichi Sekiguchi placed a wreath on the site where Lt. Fusata Iida crashed during the attack on what was then Naval Air Station Kaneohe Bay on Dec. 7, 1941. Iida was the commander of the 3rd Air Control Group and the most senior Japanese officer killed in the attack.
