3 males sought in robbery at billiards room

Police are looking for three male suspects who allegedly robbed four men at a billiards room in Chinatown.

Police said the suspects entered Aloha Billiards at 150 N. King St. about 11:10 p.m. Saturday clad in ski masks. Two suspects were armed with handguns while the third suspect was armed with a hammer.

Police said the four victims -- a game room operator and three patrons in their mid- to late 40s -- were ordered to lie down on the floor. Police said two of the victims were each wrapped in tape before the suspects fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police said there were no injuries.

Man arrested in assault with pipe

Police arrested a 36-year-old man for allegedly assaulting another man with a metal pipe.

Police said the suspect struck the victim, 42, in the head with the pipe several times about 10 p.m. Saturday at 333 N. King St.

The victim was taken to an area hospital in serious condition with severe head injuries.

Police arrested the 36-year-old man on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder.

Woman claims rape by 3 men in Waikiki

A woman was taken to the Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children's Sex Abuse Treatment Center after she reported to police that she was allegedly sexually assaulted by three men in Waikiki.

Police said a motorist was flagged down by a woman sometime before 1:30 a.m. yesterday near the intersection of Duke Lane and Kuhio Avenue.

The woman, 26, was crying and asked the motorist for a ride home. Police said the victim told the motorist that three men sexually assaulted her in the proximity of the International Market Place.

Police said the motorist stopped a patrol officer to report the incident. The case is pending further investigation.

Suspect is charged in knifing of 2 victims

A 26-year-old man was charged for allegedly stabbing two people at a Pahoa home.

Police identified him as Ryron Lloyd Pia. He was charged with first-degree attempted murder, two counts of second-degree attempted murder, two counts of first-degree assault and first-degree attempted sexual assault.

During Friday's morning hours, police responded to a call of two people who were stabbed at a home on Route 132 in Pahoa.

About 2:30 a.m., police said a female victim woke up and found Pia attempting to sexually assault her and was stabbed when she resisted.

Police said a male victim woke up and confronted Pia. A physical confrontation took place when the victim was stabbed. Police recovered a weapon at the scene.

Both victims were transported to Hilo Medical Center emergency room, where they underwent surgery for severe stab wounds. The male victim is listed in guarded condition, and the female victim is listed in stable condition. Pia is being held in lieu of $320,000 bail.

6 people escape Nanakuli home blaze

Fire officials are investigating the cause of a fire that occurred at a home in Leeward Oahu.

Capt. Kenison Tejada, Honolulu Fire Department spokesman, said the fire occurred near the intersection of Hakimo and Kaukai roads about 6:12 a.m. yesterday. The fire was under control at 6:33 a.m.

Six people, a couple and their four children, were able to escape the fire safely. The American Red Cross is assisting the family.

Tejada said an addition located behind the home was badly damaged by the fire. A woman who lives in the addition was not there at the time of the fire.

Damage is estimated at $55,000.

Inmate is charged in Hilo prison escape

Police recently charged a 31-year-old man who escaped from the Hawaii Community Correctional Center in Hilo two weeks ago.

Kyle Keola Quilausing was charged Saturday with second-degree escape, unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle and unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle. He is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Police also arrested an 18-year-old man who was a passenger of the stolen vehicle driven by Quilausing. He was released without charges.

Quilausing and Ludivico Lazo, 35, escaped from prison on June 21 through a skylight after they climbed up 18 feet using tied bedsheets. Lazo turned himself in to police earlier.
