Jordan Segundo was backed up by the Honolulu Boys Choir yesterday as they sang "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the Waikiki Shell during "Ha'aheo No 'O Honolulu (Honolulu Pride)," the grand-opening event of festivities celebrating Honolulu's centennial.

The Institute for Human Services, started by the Rev. Dr. Du Teil and friends handing out peanut butter sandwiches to the needy, is celebrating 27 years of helping people who are homeless. IHS now operates two shelters, one for men and another for women and families. A celebration yesterday included Sam Atuatasi, his wife and IHS staffer Taumaoe Atuatasi, Luga Elisara and Ana Iose.
