Wednesday
5 to 7 p.m.: TwiLight Reception, Fairmont Kea Lani Hotel. Menu includes grilled lobster tails, marinated lamb chops with mango mint salsa; $195.
10 p.m. to 1 a.m.: Big Bang party, Mulligan's on the Blue, with music by Michael Franti and heavy pupus; $40

Thursday
10 p.m. to 1 a.m.: Taste of Chocolate, Four Seasons Wailea. Features dark chocolate fountain and chocolate bar with chocolate paired with port or wine; $50.
6:30 p.m.: Awards reception, Wailea Marriott Ballroom. Includes presentation of Shooting Star Award to Luke, Owen and Andrew Wilson for "The Wendell Baker Story" and Beacon Award to Laird Hamilton and Dave Kalama for their extreme-sports documentaries; $40 ($20 children).

Friday
6:30 p.m.: Awards reception, Wailea Marriott Ballroom. Includes presentation of Shining Star Award to actor Jake Gyllenhaal and Rainmaker Award to actor William H. Macy; $40 ($20 children).

Saturday
4:30 to 7:30 p.m.: Taste of Wailea, Celestial Cinema. Island chefs offer such items as Foie Gras Sausage with Polipoli Plum Marmalade and Lobster Ceviche with Olowalu Tomatoes and Maui Avocados; $175 and $195.
6:30 p.m.: Awards reception, Wailea Marriott Ballroom. Presentation of Stella Award to actress Helen Hunt and Silversword Award to actor/screenwriter Mike Myers; $40 ($20 children).

Sunday

"My Summer of Love": Adult drama won Britain's equivalent of the Academy Award for best picture.

"Marilyn Hotchkiss Ballroom Dancing and Charm School": Romantic dramedy stars Marisa Tomei, Mary Steenburgen, Robert Carlyle, John Goodman and Danny DeVito.
"Happy Endings": 2005 Sundance FIlm Festival's opening-night ensemble dramedy stars Maggie Gyllenhaal, Lisa Kudrow, Tom Arnold, Bobby Cannavale and Laura Dern.

Sunday
"The Thing About My Folks": Stars Peter Falk, Paul Reiser, Olympia Dukakis and Elizabeth Perkins.
"Grizzly Man": Director Werner Herzog's exploration of the life of Timothy Treadwell, who spent nearly15 years living among the grizzly bears of the Alaskan wilderness.

35mm "Long" Shorts Showcase
"The Land Has Eyes": University of Hawaii professor Vilsoni Hereniko's film recounts how the mystical origins of the people of Fiji's Rotuma Island are shaken by a precocious teenage girl. It recently won the Premiere Festival Prize in New Zealand's inaugural Waiora Maori Film Festival.

Thursday
"Howl's Moving Castle": Destinies are intertwined, identities exchanged and lovers confused in this fantasy from anime master Hayao Miyazaki, featuring the voices of Christian Bale and Billy Crystal.
"Me and You and Everyone We Know": Performance artist Miranda July's debut is a poetic observation of how people struggle to connect. Winner of the Special Jury Prize for Originality of Vision at the Sundance Film Festival.

Friday
35mm Short Film Showcase
"Rock School": Paul Green's film was the inspiration for the recent box-office smash "School of Rock."

Saturday
"Aurora Borealis": Donald Sutherland, Louise Fletcher, Joshua Jackson and Juliette Lewis star in this drama about a young man's search for peace and meaning in the wake of the premature death of his father during a Minnesota winter.
"Pulse: A Stomp Odyssey": Fashion photographer and music-video director David LaChappele celebrates "krumping," the dance phenomenon from the streets of South Central Los Angeles.

Sunday
"March of the Penguins": An emperor penguin flock treks across the Antarctic on an annual journey of birth and death, dating and mating.
"Murderball": The U.S. Paralympics quadriplegic rugby team juggles macho drive, intense emotions and classic sports-movie bravado.

Tim Treadwell was killed by a grizzly bear in Katmai National Park in October 2003. Treadwell's adventures as a loner living among bears in the Alaska wilderness are the basis for the film "Grizzly Man."

"The Cutting Edge: The Magic of Movie Editing": A lively look at the "invisible art" of film editing, including film cuts and interviews with nearly 50 of the industry's finest editors and directors. At 5 p.m.
"Mana: Beyond Belief": A celebration of global culture, the power that resides in both manmade and natural objects, and the power of the projected image. At 7:30 p.m.; repeats 8 p.m. Friday at Maui Digital Skydome.

Thursday
"Ocean Odyssey": Former Maui resident Paul Gilman, director of the Palm Springs Symphony, plays underwater for spinner dolphins, humpback whales and orcas. Gilman and Friends will attend and perform. At 5 p.m.; repeats at 8 p.m. Saturday at Maui Digital Skydome.
"The Real Dirt on Farmer John": An Illinois farmer's concern for the well-being of the land inspires him to switch to organic farming, which helps build a community. Best Documentary winner at the Inspiration Film Festival. At 7:30 p.m.; repeats at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
"Awake Zion': This documentary explores similarities between Jamaican Rastafarians and Jews, including the Star of David as a central icon and hairstyles (Rastafarian dreadlocks and the sidelocks of Hassidic Jews). At 9:30 p.m.
"Between Earth and Sky": A documentary journey into the joys and challenges of free flight as a Nepalese Sherpa partners with a westerner for paragliding flights over the mountains. At 9:30 p.m. Also at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Maui Digital Skydome.

Friday
"The Hawaiians: Reflecting Spirit": Hokule'a navigator Nainoa Thompson and singer-songwriter Keali'i Reichel, among others, provide insight into how the image of Hawaiians has been shaped by Hollywood and the way these misperceptions have reverberated through contemporary Hawaii. At 5 p.m.
"Trudell": Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt and Robert Redford help chronicle the life of Native American activist and poet John Trudell, a man whose conversations, says Redford, elicit what "some people feel when they talk to the Dalai Lama." 5 p.m.
"Hula Girls": Through early journals, illustrations, movie clips and interviews, this documentary encompasses 200 years of history to see how the myth of the island woman has both idealized and exploited her. At 7:30 p.m.
"Kamakehua: The Precious Gift": The legacy of Hawaiian falsetto is featured in this story of a young African-American man, born in the deep South, who is raised by his adoptive 'ohana on Maui. At 7:30 p.m.
"Waiting to Inhale": An exploration of the history, science and politics of the war against marijuana. At 9:30 p.m.

Saturday
"Champions on Wheels": Maui wheelchair athletes are among those who follow their dreams of athletic excellence to represent Team USA at the Athens Paralympics. At noon.
"Duane Hopwood": "Friends" star David Schwimmer is a divorced dad struggling to keep his two young daughters in his life. 9:30 At 2 p.m.
"Commune": The 1960s counter-culture movement is appraised in this documentary exploring the Black Bear Commune. At 5 p.m.

"The Last Mogul": The life and times of Hollywood uber-power player Lew Wasserman, mentor to Steven Spielberg and dozens of others. At 9:30 p.m.

Sunday
"Citizen Stan": Journalist Robert Sheer explores the life of Stanley Sheinbaum, an economics academe whose connections and principles have made him a key influence in domestic/foreign policy issues. At 2 p.m.
"Pursuit of Equality": Same-sex couples pursue marriage licenses for the country's oldest openly lesbian couple, the line of same-sex couples wanting to marry wrapped around San Francisco's City Hall. Best Documentary Audience Award at the San Francisco International Film Festival. At 5 p.m.
"Favela Rising": A gritty look at AfroReggae, a grass-roots organization working to end the deadly drug culture of Rio de Janiero through percussion, dance and music. At 7:30 p.m.

"I Know I am Not Alone": Musician/composer Michael Franti, armed with an acoustic guitar and a video camera, traveled to Baghdad, Gaza and the West Bank to explore life in the Mid-East. Franti will perform at the screening and take questions.
