Summer Jensen arriving
to visit dad, attend reunion

Summer Jensen, daughter of singer Dick and Judy Jensen, is arriving Friday from L.A. for what was to be a happy occasion, her 10th Punahou class reunion this weekend. But the visit will have a somber tone as it was learned a few weeks ago that Dick has Lou Gehrig's disease. Summer has been attending FIDM, a design school in L.A., where she has a 4.0 grade-point average. Summer, who has danced professionally, is also working for architectural firm SFJones in Marina Del Rey. The company designed the W Hotel here. It also did Spago in Beverly Hills and other projects for celebrity chef-restaurateur Wolfgang Puck ... Charlie Wedemeyer and artist Peggy Field, both of whom have Lou Gehrig's disease, were with a group 12 at the Shore Bird Friday evening. The group included family members and nurses, said restaurant G.M. David Nagaishi ...

Don Ho's Executive Producer Haumea Hebenstreit and New Generations' President Sherrie White were being served a late lunch Sunday at the Cheesecake Factory bar by bartenders "Mad Dog" Joe Riley and Eddie Mafnas when Haumea got a call from Robin Wilson. Robin, who sang in Don's show back in his days at Duke Kahanamoku's, confirmed she will perform with Don at the Coach House in San Clemente, Calif., Aug. 27. Sherrie, who does Don's videos, celebrates a birthday Monday. Eddie, incidentally, is one of those well-coordinated bartenders who can flip bottles behind his back and catch them ...

Molokai Ranch's 'Do Not Disturb' signs are hot

Molokai Ranch's handmade kukui nut and kukui flower "Do Not Disturb!" sign to hang on doors is featured in this month's Travel and Leisure magazine. The idea for the sign came from Molokai Ranch G.M. Teri Waros, her assistant Nani Pele and the resort's housekeeping director Tessa Reich. Tessa makes extra signs for guests who request them and to replace those taken by guests as souvenirs ...

The Honolulu Polo Club opened its season last Sunday at the Waimanalo field. The season runs for 18 more Sundays. Club directors are Alice Lombardo Broughton, Chris Dawson, Mike Ebinger, Allen Hoe and Bob Miller. Hostesses are Annette Ebinger and Alice Vinton ...
