American Indians hold
their annual powwow
at Kapiolani Park

The Intertribal Council of Hawaii hosted its 13th Annual Pow Wow this weekend, featuring American Indian dancing, drumming, singing, arts and crafts, and food at Kapiolani Park. Joe Hacker of the Lakota tribe danced on Saturday.

Many gathered around to play the drum on Saturday. The host drum for the event was Wild Rice, an intertribal drum made up of American Indian singers who reside on Oahu. Guest drums included Wildhorse from Southern California and Red Thunder from Oahu.
