>> Capt. Kenison Tejada, spokesman for the Hono-lulu Fire Department, said all residents need to be prepared during brush fire season, especially those who live in Leeward Oahu, Pearl City, Waimanalo, Salt Lake, Wahiawa, Hawaii Kai and the Mokapu Peninsula in Kaneohe.

"You don't want to prepare for it when the fire is already happening," Tejada said.

A story on page A1 yesterday incorrectly attributed the information and quote to Kevin Kodama, senior hydrologist with the National Weather Service in Honolulu.

>> Manden Kamai, 24, was charged with manslaughter and abuse of a household member in the death of girlfriend on Molokai last weekend. A story on page A4 yesterday misspelled his first name as Mandan.
