Plant sale fund-raiser for WCCC

Here's a gold mine of a plant sale for those looking to transform their landscape into a lush tropical garden.

The 9 to 11 a.m. sale at the Kailua Elementary School parking lot, next to the public library on Kuulei Road, is organized by the Lani-Kailua Outdoor Circle and will offer prices below wholesale.

Some goodies up for grabs include areca, manila and MacArthur palms, bougainvillea, red ti, red ginger and more. Come early for the best selection.

The plants were cultivated by students in the Environmental Sciences Vocational Training program at the Women's Community Correctional Center. Proceeds of the sale will be reinvested into the program. Call 263-4040 for more information.
