» The Gary (Ind.) Southshore Railcats of the independent Northern League acquired left-hander Thomas Ford (Hawaii-Hilo) from the Sioux City Explorers for a player to be named later on April 20. Brendan Sagara (Leilehua, UH-Hilo) is the Railcats' pitching coach.
» Kaliko Oligo (Waimea,UH-Hilo) has signed with the Ohio Valley Redcoats of the independent Frontier League. The Redcoats were the Springfield/Ozark (Mo.) Ducks last year, but moved when the St. Louis Cardinals brought their Double-A minor league team to Springfield. The Redcoats will be a traveling team, playing "home" games in several Ohio and Indiana cities while testing those markets before selecting a permanent home for 2006.
» Justin Hall (St. Anthony, Long Beach St.), an infielder, was re-signed by the St. Paul Saints of the independent Northern League on April. 11.
