Pearl City hands
1 to Waianae

Three Pearl City errors, which translated to four Waianae runs, proved to be the difference as the Chargers fell to the Seariders 5-4 in Oahu Interscholastic Association West play yesterday afternoon.

Down by one run in the bottom of the sixth, Pearl City was unable to capitalize on a bases-loaded, one-out situation, hitting into an inning-ending double play.

Winning pitcher Clayton Uyechi picked up the win with 10 strikeouts and five walks in six innings. Reliever Darius Fuller was credited with the save, finishing off the final two batters of the game.

Chaz Miyashiro went 2-for-4, scoring two runs and driving in three to lead the Trojans to an OIA West-leading ninth win.

Mililani broke open the game in the fourth, highlighted by a bases-loaded triple by Miyashiro. The hit followed a string of three singles by Trojans batters.

Grace had a two-run homer in the third inning and Koga hit a two-run shot in the fifth.

After taking a 2-0 lead, Leilehua took control in the third, scoring five runs on four hits and three walks.
