Parsons buys builder with isle operations

A Washington state-based construction company that has offices in Hawaii has been sold to the engineering and construction giant Parsons Corp. of Pasadena, Calif.

Parsons paid cash for stock in RCI Construction Group, which includes Robison Construction Inc. and RCI Environmental Inc. Mark Robison and his wife, Sheri, founded the company in 1977 and revenues have grown from $64,000 to more than $300 million.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

» PacificBasin Communications has appointed Marc Inouye and Kimberly Fjarli HawaiiBusiness Magazine account executives. He previously served as a Sports Radio 1420 AM account executive. She previously served in sales and marketing positions with various companies.

PROMOTIONS

>> First Hawaiian Bank has promoted Becky L. Thomas and Paula R.A. Kalima to officers. Thomas has been promoted to assistant vice president and retail systems department manager. She first joined the bank as a teller in 1983. Kalima has been promoted to assistant vice president and real estate lending support department compliance officer. She first joined the bank in 1996 as a residential loan underwriter.

>> First Insurance Co. has promoted Diane Young to assistant vice president, manager of reinsurance and loss-bearing non-core products. She will be responsible for negotiating and managing reinsurance contracts and treaties with an array of international reinsurance companies. She has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry.

» The Hawaii Foodbank has appointed Dennis Francis and Daryl Sato to its board of directors. Francis serves as president and publisher of the Honolulu Star-Bulletin and MidWeek. Sato has 16 years of experience in the Hawaii food service industry. He is business manager of Advantage Webco Hawaii.

» The Plaza Club has appointed Lincoln Jacobe to its board of governors as co-chairman of the club's new Young Professionals board of directors. He is Hawaii Pacific Entertainment' s founder and chief.
