Deadline approaches
for deciding who is
the oldest of us all

ENTRIES in the Star-Bulletin's longest-worker contest are trickling in. We want more. The men and women named in the entries have fascinating stories to tell about changes in the workplace, the work force and in Hawaii in their decades of labor.

Perhaps even more interesting are the stories behind why they have not yet retired and taken up a life of leisure.

If you're on the fence about sending in an entry for yourself, your dad, mom, auntie or uncle, please don't wait any longer. The entry deadline is Monday and we don't want anyone -- whose foot may fit in the glass rubber slipper -- to be left out of consideration.

The prize is $100 in dining at Ruth's Chris Steak House at Restaurant Row in Honolulu. The winner must be willing to be interviewed and photographed for publication.

To enter, prepare a brief profile including name, age, place and length of employment, phone number and the best time of day to be reached, as well as an e-mail address, if any.

Send your information to Longest Worker Contest, Honolulu Star-Bulletin, 500 Ala Moana, No. 7-201, Honolulu, HI 96813; by e-mail to longestworker@starbulletin.com or via fax to (808) 529-4750.
