A memorial service was held yesterday at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl as part of the 62nd anniversary reunion of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team. This year's event was dedicated to the soldiers and families of the 100th Battalion, 442nd Infantry Reserves, currently attached to the Army National Guard's 29th Brigade serving in Iraq. Pierre Moulin and his 6-year-old son, Martin, paid their respects after laying a wreath during the wreath and floral presentation portion of the ceremony. Moulin, who said his father helped in the resistance movement, is from Bruyeres, France, a town that was liberated by the 442nd during World War II.
