Crystal Method

As I first reported in this space last week, the Crystal Method is coming to Honolulu for a couple of gigs.

Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland will first appear at Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park on Saturday, with an outdoor concert starting at 10 p.m. Tickets are $25 at the gate.

On Sunday, they head to the O Lounge for a more traditional party setting alongside DJs G-Spot, IKON, Big Daddy Dave and Cronkite. Doors open at 9 p.m. for the 18-and-over crowd, and it'll cost you $20 to get in ...

Slim Mango is this month's featured band ... There's a new Monday night party starting at Okonomi Cuisine Kai on Makaloa St. DJs Epic One and Slant will be the weekly residents at "R&B Suite Mondays" ...

FORMER Hawaii resident DJ Zita returns this weekend to spin at "Cleopatra's Den," a benefit event going down at thirtyninehotel.

Money raised during tomorrow's party will be used to send six performers to the Michigan Womyn's Music Festival later this year.

Joining Zita on the turntables will be DJs Celene and Chia, along with live performances by X-Factor, T&A and Shakti Dance Movement. The artwork of Sara Caires, Matt DeMartino and Kim Kinard will also be on display. Cover for this one is $10, but it will be free to get in before 10:30 p.m. ...

IF YOU'RE a wine drinker, check out "Grape Escape 2005" on Saturday at Shanghai Bistro. Tickets for the event are $45, and include parking, pupus, wine tasting and a souvenir glass. Proceeds will benefit the Hawaii alumnae chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority ... Rather watch a lingerie fashion show while you sip on some wine? Monday's "The Passion of Pinot Noir and the Elegance of Lace" might be more your speed. More than 20 different wines will be sampled during the tasting at Formaggio, with models sporting designs by Lulu Lackey. Tickets are $40; call 739-9463 ...

AND THERE are still a few more days to fill out an application for this year's Miss Hawaii USA and Miss Hawaii Teen USA pageants. Ladies between the ages of 15 and 26 can follow in the footsteps of current Miss Hawaii USA Jennifer Fairbank; other winners include Kelly Hu, Trini Kaopuiki, Kuualoha Taylor and Brook Lee. The deadline to enter is Sunday; call 538-6690 for more information ...
