WHIRLPOOL
According to Whirlpool, 75 percent of all garments are dry-cleaned simply to remove wrinkles and odors.

Soon there'll be a new take on the term "ready-to-wear."

Whirlpool hopes to make it easy to get fresh with its new Fabric Freshener, an appliance that releases wrinkles and odors from fabrics in a half hour. No washing, no ironing, no visits to the dry cleaner. Simply pop two pieces of clothing in the garment bag, fill the reservoir with water, zip the bag up and press the button.

According to the folks at Whirlpool, "Now, consumers can shower, eat breakfast, basically do anything while their clothes get refreshed and ready-to-wear." Heat and steam release wrinkles, reaching a temperature and steam level high enough to tackle odors from smoke, food, pets and perfume.

The new appliance will be available in late spring exclusively at Best Buy and whirlpool.com, for about $219.
