3 Doors Down ticket
sales start Saturday

Tickets go on sale Saturday at 9 a.m. for an April 5 concert by 3 Doors Down at Pipeline Cafe.

Hailing from Escatawpa, Miss., and led by vocalist Brad Arnold, the band is currently riding a wave of success generated by their latest release, "Seventeen Days." The album, which hit store shelves Feb. 8, debuted in the top spot of the Billboard 200 and sold more than 300,000 copies in just two weeks.

The Honolulu show will catch the guys on their way back from performances in Australia. After playing here and taking a couple of weeks off, they'll embark on a tour of the East Coast.

Congrats also to Nikki Robinson -- this will be the first concert she promotes as Pau Hana Productions, after it was announced that Goldenvoice was pulling out of the Honolulu market ...

Located on Kawaiahao Street between Ward and Kamakee, this place is another haven for fans of house music. On Friday night, "Genesis" features DJs Archangel, PSI, VerStrat, Technique, Chronkite and MetalX.

Saturday brings "The Vortex" with the Psylective crew and special guest DJ Keisuke from Japan ...

HOUSE FANS will also want to pay a visit to "Speakeasy Saturdays" at the Living Room this week.

Following an opening set by DJ Universoul, OM Records' JT Donaldson will make his first appearance in the islands. Originally from Texas, Donaldson has been mixing since 1997 and has worked with the likes of Mark Farina and Kaskade.

AND OVER at Coffee Talk, Unity Crayons continues to support the local scene with another all-ages show.

Tomorrow night's "Funk 'N' Punk Bash" starts at 8 p.m. and features sets by Transpose, Piss Poor Excuse, The Suspected Collective, Fifth Freedom and the Ooh La La's. With an early start time, you can pay a visit to Coffee Talk and support the bands before heading out to do something else with the rest of your evening.

YOU CAN also party for a good cause this weekend -- Kapono's will present "Hawaiians at Heart," a benefit concert for the American Heart Association, on Sunday.

Hosted by Kimo Kahoano, the benefit will feature performances by Henry Kapono, Amy Hanaialii Gilliom, Baba B., Frank DeLima, Jordan Segundo, Imai, Mahealani Keale, the Surfers, Nalani Olds and Bill Kaiwa.
