Chad Kimble, 5, played with a model of a trebuchet, or catapult, during the 19th Windward District Science and Engineering Fair held at King Intermediate School yesterday. Kimble's brother, Cole, was a participant in the fair whose science project, "The Effects of Zero Gravity on the Human Body" was recommended to the Hawaii State Science and Engineering Fair.

Robert Carlos, 16, built what he called an elf and dwarf city in the sand during a Project Pure Light outing held at Kailua Beach Park every third Saturday of the month. The program helps individuals with physical and mental disabilities enjoy a day at the beach to paddle, swim and do other activities.
