weekend

Eat this!

Call ahead to Toraji Yakiniku if you don't want to be one of those standing on the street waiting for a table.

TORAJI HAWAII CORP.

One of the specialties at the stylish Japanese-run Korean grill is a cook-it-yourself entree of beef tongue, which you can order salt-marinated ($7.75), or marinated in Toraji's "original sauce" ($5.75), or enjoy minced raw, carpaccio-style, and topped with leek ($8.75).

Not into that? Then stick to sirloin, kalbi and skirt steak. Round out your red-meat intake with an order of assorted kim chee and namul, and wash it down with Korean sake.

» Place: 949 Kapahulu Ave.
» Hours: 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. daily
» Cost: About $36 for two, pupu style, without alcohol
» Call: 732-9996

"Monday's a holiday, so there's no excuse to stay home on Sunday night. I'm going to check out 102.7 Da Bomb's President's Day Bash at Longhi's with Sam the Man and DJ Ryan Sean, starting at 10 p.m. It's been a good six months since there's been any late-night action at this spot."

Check out The Society of Seven with Lani Misalucha at the Hawaii Theatre. The original SOS, led by Tony Ruivivar and Bert Sagum, are back in Hawaii for the first time in several years after being in Las Vegas. If that's not reason enough for SOS fans to catch this show, Lani is going to blow Hawaii away with her vocal range. Her take on Whitney Houston even impressed me.

True Keanu Reeves' fans have to see the movie "Constantine" (Review on Page 10) albeit the movie is a little slow moving. But, hey, if you're a Keanu fan like me, the only thing that matters is that the hottie is on the screen 95 percent of the movie.
