Rain forces Hawaii-Alabama
twinbill today

The Rainbow Warriors have
a baseball game postponed for
just the fourth time since 1985

Ernie "Let's Play Two" Banks would love it.

Hawaii and Alabama will resume their baseball series with a split doubleheader today at 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. at Les Murakami Stadium.

The rare twinbill for the Rainbows is due to heavy rains that postponed last night's game.

UH fans holding tickets/rain checks from last night's game can use them for the 2 p.m. game. They will be able to stay for the 6:30 p.m. game, but would have to move to a new seat if someone buys a ticket for their seat for the nightcap.

Both games between the 'Bows will be nine innings. Hawaii won the opener of the four-game, nonconference series 4-1 Thursday night.

The starting pitchers for the Rainbows are senior right-hander Stephen Bryant in the first game and junior right-hander Colby Summer in the nightcap. Sophomore left-hander Brandon Belcher is expected to pitch the first game for Alabama.

Four games have been postponed and two canceled since the artificial surface was installed at Murakami Stadium in 1985.
