Fighting Eel is known for its exuberant, youthful designs combining effortless style and comfort. Up for grabs will be tube tops, bias-cut skirts, culottes, pants and dresses made of lightweight, easy-care fabrics that make for great comfort and fit.

Pieces will be available for $20 or less, with half of the proceeds going to Unicef's tsunami relief efforts. Cash payments only.

Lookin' good, kiddo

Do you glance at the fashion mags and wonder what Gisele Bundchen's got that you don't? Well, get your butt out of bed, comb your hair, put on some lip gloss and go to First Friday tomorrow, where the F/22 Gallery will be hosting four live fashion shoots on the hour from 6 to 9 p.m.

Models will be selected from the crowd, giving you a shot at being discovered.

Arrive dressed for the shoot to be considered. The finished photographs will be placed on the gallery walls that evening, coinciding with the exhibition theme of "Fashion Photography as Art."

For voyeurs, the gallery will be transformed into a photographic studio so that the entire process will be visible through the glass windows from the sidewalk. A professional hair and make-up artist will be on site to participate in the production, so the audience can witness the styling, process of lighting, posing and post-image production.

The gallery is around the corner from The ARTS at Marks Garage, at 1159 Nuuanu Ave.

Have a heart, wear something red

For the second year, Macy's and the American Heart Association are partnering to fight heart disease with the "Go Red For Women" campaign, a national call for women to recognize and reduce their risk for heart disease.

The campaign kicks off tomorrow with the second annual National Wear Red Day for Women.

Macy's and AHA encourage all to wear red on tomorrow in support of women who have been touched by heart disease, the No. 1 cause of death for women over the age of 25 nationwide. Every three hours, a woman dies from heart disease or stroke in the Islands.

Care for yourself and others

Aveda Salon & Spa at Ala Moana Center continues its silent auction to support the tsunami relief efforts, through Sunday.

Bid on salon and spa packages from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday for a chance to be pampered while helping others. All proceeds will go to tsunami relief, and donations will be matched by Aveda Corporation and the Global Green Grant Fund.

About 30 salon and spa services, as well as an Aveda gift basket, are up for auction. These include haircuts, hair color, a hair spa treatment, pampering massages, stress-relieving treatments, facials, waxing, manicures and pedicures.
