Case to host town meetings

U.S. Rep. Ed Case will begin holding a series of statewide town meetings Jan. 29 on Oahu. The 11-meeting "Talk Stories" series will end Feb. 19.

Case (D, rural Oahu, neighbor islands) has held 80 Talk Stories the past two years and plans for more meetings on the neighbor islands.

During these hour-long meetings Case will report on the issues facing Hawaii and the nation, and listen to the thoughts and concerns of citizens.

"The federal deficit and Iraq are among the key issues ... while transportation/traffic, affordable housing and federal recognition are issues that need to be addressed urgently, especially in our district," he said.

The meeting schedule follows:

Jan. 29

» Waianae Neighborhood Community Center, 9 to 10 a.m.
» Nanaikapono Elementary School cafeteria, 11 a.m. to noon.
» Kapolei Elementary School cafeteria, 1 to 2 p.m.
» Kaleiopuu Elementary School cafeteria, 3 to 4 p.m.

Feb. 12

» Castle High School cafeteria, 9 to 10 a.m.
» Kailua Elementary School cafeteria, 11 a.m. to noon.
» Waimanalo Public & School Library, 1 to 2 p.m.

Feb. 19

» Hauula Elementary School cafeteria, 9 to 10 a.m.
» Kahuku Village Association Community Center, 11 a.m. to noon.
» Wahiawa Recreation Center, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
