At Boise, Idaho, Oct. 29: UH is embarrassed on national TV as the Broncos rush for eight touchdowns while amassing 589 yards. Jared Zabransky upstages Chang on a night when the UH QB is expected to break Ty Detmer's career passing-yardage record.

At Aloha Stadium, Nov. 6: Jason Rivers catches a 7-yard TD pass that makes Chang the NCAA career passing-yardage leader. Ryan Moats goes for 228 yards, but is slowed enough for UH to win.

At Fresno, Calif., Nov. 12: The Warriors suffer another embarrassing nationally televised blowout. The Bulldogs pound Hawaii for 679 yards, with Bryson Sumlin leading the way with 220 yards. UH falls to 4-5 after finishing its road ventures 0-4.

At Aloha Stadium, Nov. 20: UH's injury-riddled defense sacks the Vandals 10 times, and Rivers grabs a school-record four touchdown receptions. Chang passes for a career-best six TDs.

Northwestern 41
Hawaii 49

At Aloha Stadium, Nov. 27: Owens scores five TDs, tying Rivers' record set the week before for scoring receptions. But the big play is a 76-yard punt return that ESPN replays over and over for the next two days.

Hawaii 41

At Aloha Stadium, Dec. 4: Owens steals the show again. This time he catches 13 passes for 283 yards and four touchdowns. UH trails 21-0, and then 28-14 at halftime before Hawaii scores 27 of the next 30 points, including a 1-yard sneak by Chang for the Warriors' first lead with 9:22 left. MSU is penalized 16 times for 119 yards.

Blazers in '04

The University of Alabama-Birmingham finished 7-4. Here's a game-by-game summary:

At Legion Field, Sept. 4: Darrell Hackney throws three touchdown passes and runs for another, all in less than three quarters of play as UAB records its highest point total since becoming a Division I-A team.

At Tallahassee, Fla., Sept. 18: UAB is held to minus -54 yards rushing and 144 yards of total offense as four Seminoles record rushing touchdowns. Reggie Lindsey's 21-yard touchdown reception accounts for UAB's only score.

At Legion Field, Sept. 25: Roddy White hauls in eight catches for 177 yards and three TDs, and Corey White's 30-yard run with 13 seconds left proves to be the game-winner.

At Cincinnati, Oct. 2: Hackney completes a 10-play, 76-yard drive in the fourth quarter with an 8-yard TD pass to Cedric Hampton to seal the victory. Will Evans scores on a 30-yard interception return for a score.

At Starkville, Miss., Oct. 9: Lindsey scores on a 67-yard punt return midway through the fourth quarter for the game's final score, offsetting 201 rushing yards by Jerious Norwood. UAB's Dan Burks and Corey White combine for 135 rushing yards.

At Legion Field, Oct. 15: Hackney throws five touchdown passes in the first half, including two to Lindsey, as the Blazers start 3-0 in conference play for the first time in school history.

Tulane 59

At New Orleans, Oct. 23: The teams combine for 1,174 total yards of offense, with Green Wave quarterback Lester Ricard finding Chris Bush for a 12-yard touchdown pass with 27 seconds left for the deciding score. Hackney throws for 448 yards and Norris Drinkard accounts for four touchdowns, three on the ground.

At Legion Field, Nov. 3: Andre Hall runs for a school-record 275 yards as South Florida scores 25 unanswered points to come from behind. Hall puts it out of reach with fourth quarter TD runs of 35 and 63 yards.

UAB 20

At Legion Field, Nov. 13: The UAB defense holds Houston without a first down in the first quarter and records six sacks as the Blazers become bowl-eligible. White catches two touchdown passes in the team's final home game.

At West Point, N.Y., Nov. 20: Nick Hayes kicks two field goals and Hackney throws two touchdown passes as the Blazers solidify their bowl chances.

So. Mississippi 26

At Hattiesburg, Miss., Nov. 27: The Golden Eagles remain undefeated against UAB, outscoring the Blazers 23-7 in the second half. Sam Dudley catches a 1-yard touchdown pass from Hackney with 1:29 left in the game, but the onside-kick attempt fails.
