A traffic stop in Kaaawa turned into a lucky break for a burglary victim earlier this week.

While telling the officer about how his house had just been broken into, the victim looked into the vehicle that the officer had stopped and saw the laptop.

The 20- and 22-year-old males in the vehicle were arrested on suspicion of second-degree theft.

Fugitive from Georgia apprehended on Maui

A fugitive wanted on the mainland for armed robbery, hijacking and aggravated assault is in a Maui Police Department jail awaiting extradition to Georgia.

U.S. Marshal Mark Hanohano said the Hawaii Fugitive Task Force arrested Chun Hyok Yi on Maui this week after receiving information that Yi was possibly in Hawaii.

Police in Columbus, Ga., requested the help of the U.S. Marshals Service in arresting Yi because of the case's high profile. The victim was shot four times, and Yi was considered armed and dangerous.

The task force, formed by the U.S. Marshals Service last year, includes state sheriffs, the four county police departments, the Honolulu Prosecutor's Office and the state Department of the Attorney General.
