Internet spat hip-hops
to the Pussycat

INTERNET drama turns real life tonight at the Wave Waikiki, thanks to a pair of local MCs and one accommodating nightclub promotions director.

"This is the first-ever Internet hip-hop beef turned reality in Hawaii," e-mails Flash Hansen. "The Pussycat Lounge stepped in (and) offered a logical solution ... time to put up or shut up!"

While the unsuspecting masses enjoyed a long Thanksgiving weekend, tensions simmered between Intaleck tha Reject and Hosana on Honolulu scenester site QuadMag.com. Intaleck was once a member of the same Direct Descendants crew that Hosana is currently affiliated with, but now plays with the Mega Supras and Dead Monkeys when not helping to promote other events around town.

Doors open at 9 p.m. for the 18-and-over crowd, with the battle starting at 11 p.m. You've also got one last chance to see Psychokinetics perform if you missed their other gigs over the weekend ...

ALSO GOING on tonight is a special Christmas gift-wrapping party at Murphy's Bar and Grill.

Don Murphy will host the 16th annual "Ronald McDonald Christmas Wrapping Night" from 5 to 9:30 p.m. at the downtown watering hole. The public is invited to bring a gift that will be passed on to a patient at the Ronald McDonald House.

In exchange for the donation and elbow grease, you can take part in a complimentary Honolulu City Lights trolley tour and enjoy a buffet spread and visit from Santa Claus. Call 531-0422 for more info ...

CONGRATS TO Kutmaster Spaz, who recently signed a syndication deal for his "Dis-N-Dat" television show with a station in Las Vegas. He's partnering with Vizzun Entertainment to bring the program to Sin City starting on Jan. 2 ... It's not the Grammy Awards, but local musicians still have a few weeks to enter the 2004 Hawaii Music Awards, dubbed the "People's Choice Music Awards" by organizer Johnny Kai. Check out www.hawaiimusicawards.com for a list of open categories; deadline is Jan. 1 ... And a suggestion for the ladies hired to dance by various promoters at local nightspots -- at least try to look like you're having fun, will you? The crowd may not be completely focused on your face, but that's still no excuse for some of the expressions I've seen lately ...
