Tropical Roofing’s Beeck
gets into the holiday spirit

HO, HO, HO! Generous and jovial Charlie Beeck, president of Tropical Roofing and Raingutters, is totally into the Christmas spirit. Charlie, who has the gravelly voice of a first sergeant, tossed a dinner party at Morton's Saturday for 70 of his upper management, friends and customers. To top it off, he gave KHON's Manolo Morales a check of $500 for the station's Lokahi Tree fund which helps make Christmas merry for the needy. Bill and Kim Baley flew over from Mission Viejo, Calif., for the Saturday dinner. Kim, who is on the smaller side, devoured one of the biggest cuts of juicy prime rib I have ever seen. Bishop Museum opens Candy Cane Lane today for "kids from 1 to 92." Rides on the Holiday Train, a petting zoo, larger than life candy canes, craft activities, turbo slides, tasty holiday delights and entertainment are scheduled. Candy Cane Lane runs today and tomorrow, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Entry is $3 a person and free for museum members. The museum's Shop Pacifica offers a 25 percent reduction on gift prices during the 12 Days of Christmas, starting Monday ...

Holiday cheer overflows at Neiman's Incircle party

Neiman Marcus' annual party for Incircle card members Wednesday night was a huge success. Food, drink, entertainment and holiday cheer overflowed on every floor as shoppers snapped up merchandise at reduced prices. Performing were Ginai with the Special Touch Band, the Honolulu Madrigal Singers in colorful costumes, the Pacific Trades vocal quartet, Sharene Boulos on harp, the duo of Rocky Holmes on sax and Bobby Nishida on guitar, a classical string duo, and the Royal Hawaiian Band Glee Club, made up of band leader Aaron Mahi, Gary Aiko, Scott Ho'oheno and Kaipo Asing. The band's benefit Christmas ornaments were sold and signed by Aaron ...

The Ihilani held its tree lighting last weekend for a 40-foot Treasures of Hawaii tree. Jason Pacheco created the tree that displays a 10-foot image of Queen Liliuokalani, 1,000 lights and many Hawaiian ornaments. The Kaihilani Trio, Halau O Kamalani from Nanakuli and members of the Rosalie Woodson Dance Studio in Aiea performed ...
