‘North Shore’
still in the tube

"North Shore's" roller coaster ride got smoother this week.

FOX executives notified series's executive producers on Monday that the network is considering the drama for a summer series, a second season.

Last week the network announced it would not continue filming after shutting down Dec. 17 for the holidays.

"We're in a fold and hold," said producer Harry Bring. "Things look a lot more positive than it did three days ago."

The earliest producers expect to know the show's fate is mid January but it could be as late as February. If the series is picked up, filming will begin in April.

FOX executives didn't give a reason for its decision, though "North Shore's" ratings last week were one of its strongest.

FOX has no plans to relinquish its rental agreement for the Hawaii Fim Studio until "the show's dead," Bring said.

Even so, executives from ABC's "Lost" toured it yesterday.
