Evans rallies for Futures tennis victory

Brendan Evans defeated Wayne Odesnik 6-7 (5), 7-6 (2), 7-6 (4) in the championship match of the Honolulu Futures tennis tournament at the Diamond Head Courts yesterday.

Former 'Bows earn Swatch Classic victories

Former Rainbow Wahine players Chastity Nobriga and Karin Lundqvist defeated fellow alumnae Maja Gustin and Tanja Nikolic 30-25 in the final of the Swatch Hawaiian Classic at Queens Beach.

Also yesterday, Eyal Zimet and Stevie Li defeated Brian Chapman and Watt Thongtrakul 21-16, 21-18 in the men's beach volleyball final. The men's winners split $750 and the women halved $700.
