THANKSGIVING GETS IN GEAR

City Councilman-elect Todd Apo received and loaded food into one of seven United Parcel Service trucks donated for the Sixth Annual Ko Olina Thanksgiving Outreach Project on Saturday in Kapolei. The event was sponsored by the Ko Olina Community Association and had approximately 500 volunteers who helped prepare, cook, package and deliver 4,000 meals to feed those in need at 13 churches in the Leeward area. The meals totaled 2,700 pounds of turkey, 750 pounds of ham, 600 pounds of rice, 100 gallons of gravy, 400 pounds of corn, 4,000 rolls and 4,000 pumpkin desserts.
